Hi! I'm Zoë, founder of Pause & Reset. Let me first off say that whilst I’m happy you are here, I am sorry you find yourself in need.
As a society, death and dealing with the loss of a loved one is never part of the lessons in life we are taught until it actually happens and it is also one of the taboo areas that is less spoken about than the ‘nice’ times like births or marriages. Grief can be very misunderstood and often lonely journey with many ups and downs and for some we often don’t know where to begin or how to manage our grief.
I lost my mother very suddenly and unexpectedly 3 years ago and only a short time after that my father became very ill with a heart condition. Whether it was as a result of his adoring wife passing, we don’t know but we often say it was broken as a result.
At the time I reached out to the usual bereavement charities and groups to make sure my elderly father who hates speaking about feelings as well as myself could access suitable grief care. Unfortunately the ‘systems’ and policies of these organisations are such that there are large waiting times and it’s a postcode lottery if there are support groups near your location.
Fast forward a few months and another family death, I was at burn out stage, juggling caring responsibilities, grieving and work. I searched for a break, a retreat that I could focus on me but be surrounded by people with similar experiences. My search returned retreats, but none giving the focus of wellness whilst grieving or ticked the boxes in my criteria.
Pause & Reset has evolved from that little germ on an idea, a lot of soul searching, personal development in the form of becoming a Certified Coach for Wellness and the rest as they say is history.
I am on a mission is to challenge the way we look after ourselves during our journey through grief and I'd love to welcome you onto a Grief Wellness Retreat soon!
